About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement substance use prevention programs and initiatives through education, community outreach, and collaboration with community partners
- Deliver approved substance use prevention curricula in middle and high schools and other agencies
- Facilitate individual and group classroom sessions, assemblies, observations, monitoring, and direct implementation
- Prepare and deliver program materials
- Participate in community coalition meetings and task force committees
- Recruit and secure school and community implementation locations
- Secure training sites for approved programs
- Market and promote programs to schools
- Provide alcohol and other drug education to parents, faculty, and agency staff
- Provide substance abuse information and community resources to schools and partners
- Complete monitoring reports required by grants
- Complete daily documentation and Salesforce/CPG data entries within required timeframes
- Assist Prevention Coordinators with special projects
- Maintain knowledge of prevention disciplines, trends, and best practices
- Document outcomes through satisfaction surveys, training evaluations, and observations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Candidates must reside in or near Palm Beach County, Florida
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, education, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience
- Minimum of 1 year working with adolescents, preferably in a school or public health setting
- Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) preferred or Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS)
- Ability to communicate substance use prevention topics effectively to adolescents
- Strong presentation and group facilitation skills
- Superb verbal and written communication skills, including interactive public speaking and active listening
- Knowledge of adolescent development
- Strong computer/technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent judgment
- Willingness to undergo a background check
- Valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and willingness and ability to drive for work purposes
- Able to travel and deliver lengthy, multi-session public presentations
- Able to work extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
- If in recovery, one year of continuous sobriety is required
- Drug screening required after a conditional offer of employment
