About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, deploy, and own consumer applications, infrastructure, and data-delivering products and services supporting Happy Money’s lending business
Develop products that provide an exceptional customer experience for members
Own the design, testing, development, and delivery of new and existing features
Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle
Collaborate with product managers, designers, business owners, and engineers to identify solutions
Drive engineering efficiency through AI-driven coding agents and agentic workflows
Implement automated frontend testing for critical components and user workflows
Design solutions to complex problems independently
Design and develop maintainable, scalable, fault-tolerant, and efficient systems
Uphold code quality and product standards
Prioritize technical debt and tooling to reduce operational load
Mentor frontend engineers across the Engineering team
Take initiative, address challenges, and drive projects forward

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years building production React applications
Deep expertise in React, hooks, and component architecture at scale
Production experience with ReactJS, CSS, GraphQL, JavaScript, NodeJS, Python, and Java
Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies
Experience building frontend user interfaces and UI-based SDKs for other developers
Strong belief in automated testing
Ability to scope, scale, and prioritize tasks and deliver project milestones
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Results-oriented and able to unblock yourself and others
Familiarity with AWS technologies, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and API Gateway
Production experience developing scalable and highly available consumer applications
BA/Master degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
