About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build AI features combining LLMs, speech models, and retrieval systems
- Own AI features end-to-end, from problem discovery and prompt design through production
- Build systems that turn conversations into summaries, search, actions, and memory
- Build and maintain an evaluation framework that catches regressions and supports prompt iteration
- Optimize AI infrastructure for speed, cost, and reliability through provider routing, caching, chunking, and latency-budget decisions
- Monitor developments in AI and assess new models and techniques for migration
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to integrate native-feeling AI features into products
- Design and ship semantic search across transcripts using embeddings and hybrid retrieval
- Build agentic systems that turn meeting notes into drafted emails, tasks, and follow-ups
- Create prompt evaluation pipelines that identify quality regressions before users do
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of engineering experience
- 2+ years of deep experience in AI applications
- Experience shipping LLM-based features to production for real products and users
- Fluency in prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and evaluation frameworks
- Experience debugging retrieval and hallucination issues
- Ability to evaluate new models and determine whether migration is worthwhile
- Ability to make trade-offs involving latency, quality, cost, speed-to-ship, and technical debt
- Product-minded approach focused on solving user problems
- Excitement about the company’s engineering principles and alignment with most of the Rails doctrine
- Bonus: Experience shipping AI features in reliable, accuracy-sensitive B2B SaaS
- Bonus: Experience with multi-provider LLM systems, fallbacks, routing, and cost optimization
- Bonus: Experience designing retrieval systems at scale, including embeddings, reranking, and hybrid search
- Bonus: Experience with speech or audio AI, including transcription, diarization, or real-time processing
- Spanish residency by start date for a permanent contract, or residence outside Spain within CET ±2 hours and willingness to work as a contractor
