About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the end-to-end architecture and strategic roadmap for HARMAN’s Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop environment
Design and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure AVD solutions aligned with enterprise cloud and infrastructure standards
Establish architecture principles, design patterns, and governance standards for AVD services
Partner with Cybersecurity teams on security architectures, hardening standards, and risk mitigation strategies
Translate business requirements into technical solutions improving user experience, platform performance, and operational efficiency
Lead architecture reviews, technical assessments, and design decisions for AVD technologies and supporting Azure services
Drive FinOps initiatives by optimizing Azure consumption, licensing, resource utilization, and platform costs
Provide technical leadership and highest-level escalation support for complex AVD architecture challenges
Develop and maintain reference architectures, standards documentation, operational runbooks, and technology roadmaps
Collaborate with Microsoft and other technology partners on emerging capabilities and continuous improvement
Report to the Executive Director of Cybersecurity and Essential Services
Work across infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to support business growth, resilience, and modernization

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
3+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop environments
Deep understanding of Azure cloud architecture, virtual desktop technologies, and modern workplace solutions
Strong experience developing secure infrastructure architectures and implementing security controls within Azure environments
Expertise in AVD architecture components, including host pools, session hosts, image management, user profile solutions, and application delivery
Experience creating technology roadmaps, architecture standards, and governance frameworks
Understanding of Azure cost management principles and experience driving cloud cost optimization initiatives
Ability to independently solve complex technical problems and influence architectural decisions across multiple teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience collaborating across infrastructure, cloud, security, and operations teams in a global enterprise environment
