About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the user growth plan for new consumer products from early access through public launch and expansion
- Own growth strategy across organic, influencer, lifecycle, and paid acquisition channels
- Build and run influencer programs with artists, reviewers, and community leaders
- Translate brand positioning into launch messaging and refine positioning based on user, creator, partner, and performance data
- Design and optimize invite and referral mechanics
- Lead community seeding across relevant user communities and channels
- Identify, negotiate, and manage music-industry partnerships with artists, platforms, and companies
- Partner with product management on growth-driving features and product decisions
- Manage external strategy, social, influencer, and creative agencies
- Define and track acquisition, activation, referral, and retention metrics with analytics partners
- Formalize the co-marketing model between new products and JBL
- Evaluate and manage opportunities to leverage HARMAN brands, products, and ecosystems
- Report directly to the Product Strategy Lead within the Software Experiences Business Unit
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, marketing, analytics, HARMAN Lifestyle, Corporate Strategy, agencies, and external partners
- Expected to grow to include direct reports as the business scales
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required
- MBA or equivalent experience in consumer growth, marketing strategy, and/or business development preferred
- 10+ years of experience in consumer technology, digital media, or entertainment
- Hands-on experience building and running influencer or creator programs
- Experience sourcing, negotiating, and managing external partnerships delivering distribution, content, or audience
- Fluency with growth analytics and ability to define, instrument, and act on growth metrics
- Experience managing external agencies and evaluating when to bring capabilities in-house
- Impactful written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present confidently to senior executives and influence decisions across a matrixed organization
- High degree of ownership and initiative
- Experience with consumer app growth mechanics, invite programs, referral loops, engagement metrics, and ad-supported models is a bonus
- Familiarity with the music or audio industry is a bonus
- Demonstrated track record taking a consumer product from early access or limited release through public launch is a bonus
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools is a bonus
- Experience in a large global organization with an entrepreneurial business unit is a bonus
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, domestically and internationally
- Willingness to work 2+ days per week from a hybrid office environment in New York, NY or Stamford, CT
- Flexibility in working hours required
- Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment after offer acceptance
