About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist the Healthcare Director in leading health and wellness activities for the community’s residents
Assure efficient and effective operation of the resident care department
Lead medication technicians and nursing assistants in providing quality care and services
Evaluate residents before move-in and conduct re-evaluations as indicated
Develop and revise individualized resident service plans
Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, third-party healthcare providers, and healthcare team members
Oversee medication management activities, including med tech training, skill validation, routine audits, and pharmacy collaboration
Maintain compliance with local, State, and Federal regulations and Harmony Senior Services policies
Ensure resident evaluations and documentation meet requirements and keep the department survey ready
Participate in plans of correction and infection control activities
Train and validate skills for med techs, personal care aides, and other team members
Participate in interviews, onboarding, and coaching of new resident care team members
Attend community and resident care meetings when the Healthcare Director is unavailable
Promote collaboration, teamwork, and positive relationships among community team members
Communicate with residents’ families and resolve questions or concerns
Complete required initial, annual, and other training
Partner with the Harmony Square Director and Healthcare Director on behavior expressions and Harmony Square residents’ wellness needs
Carry out other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Current valid and unencumbered license to practice as an RN or LPN in the State in which the community is located
Nursing education/area of study
1-2 years’ experience required
Current CPR certification required
Strong organizational and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening and night shift and weekends
Ability to be on-call after hours
Ability to act as the Manager-on-Duty on selected weekends
Experience in caring for geriatric individuals and those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia strongly preferred
3 or more years' experience preferred
