About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the clinical performance of clinical pod team members, including diagnosis and documentation, quality, patient experience, affordability, patient safety, team dynamics, and provider productivity
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with clinical team members
  • Function as collaborating physician for associated pod advanced practice providers
  • Partner with the Market Manager and market office staff
  • Act as on-site supervising physician for assigned APPs and physicians
  • Participate in ride-alongs with all collaborative APPs at least once per quarter
  • Provide complex patient visits as needed for each supervised APP
  • Collaborate with Community Health Workers, Medical Social Workers, Nurse Navigators, Care Managers, and Patient Care Coordinators
  • Develop and participate in APP clinical development
  • Lead high-risk huddles and ensure documented plans of care
  • Build a team-based culture and collaborate with clinical team members
  • Conduct 10 chart audits per month or per state regulations, whichever is higher
  • Provide clinical guidance and participate in difficult patient or family conversations
  • Conduct panel reviews with APPs
  • Sign DME orders, death certificates, and other orders as permitted by state regulations
  • Review quality metrics and pod performance, identifying improvement opportunities
  • Review clinician capacity and productivity, and partner with Site Medical Directors on countermeasures
  • Work with the Regional Medical Director to identify care improvement opportunities
  • Assist with service inquiries and resolution of patient complaints
  • Help pod providers improve EMR efficiency
  • Participate in patient care for assigned and high-risk or complex patients
  • Lead clinical education on diagnosis, documentation, and chronic-condition management
  • Assist with compliance and HR resolutions
  • Manage disciplinary actions and performance reviews for direct reports
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Regional Medical Director related to clinical pod performance and outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must be a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
  • Active CPR Certification
  • Active Medical License
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience at HarmonyCares Medical Group
  • Board Certification preferred
