About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work alongside the Zonderkidz, DaySpring Kids, and Blink team on children’s and young adult book projects
  • Become familiar with Zonderkidz, DaySpring Kids, and Blink production processes
  • Learn The Chicago Manual of Style and The Christian Writer’s Manual of Style
  • Learn children’s book types, typesettings, layouts, and ancillary features
  • Practice content editing, copyediting, content proofreading, and typesetting proofreading
  • Prepare title information forms for internal use
  • Assist with book-related research
  • Provide input on prospective manuscripts and projects
  • Attend team meetings, editorial boards, title alignment meetings, and production meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Available to work in a full-time capacity in 2027 or 2028
  • Rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry level candidates with up to 1 year of work experience
  • Available to work 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Resume and cover letter required; cover letter addressed to “Hiring Team”
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
  • Strong knowledge of the English language and grammar
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Copyediting and proofreading experience preferred
  • Passion for books highly valued
