About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conceive and execute marketing campaigns for an assigned list of children’s books
- Develop campaign visions including audience segmentation, promotional timelines, and key tactics to drive sales
- Use internal and external analysis and data management tools to make strategic, data-driven decisions
- Evolve promotional plans based on marketplace trends, emerging opportunities, imprint results, and campaign results
- Identify promotional backlist opportunities for titles and authors
- Collaborate with Editorial, Marketing, Art, Sales, publicists, publishers, agents, and authors
- Manage budgets for assigned titles and track performance to budget
- Communicate detailed campaign updates and present campaigns in key meetings
- Advise authors on building and optimizing social media presence and overall platform
- Develop campaign content including social media copy and images, infographics, and consumer email copy
- Participate in imprint-wide marketing discussions and seasonal sales meetings
- Coordinate marketing efforts with publicists
- Secure title-specific and imprint-wide cross-promotional partnerships with third-party brands and companies
- Occasionally attend industry trade shows and book tour events
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of publishing experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and organization
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to take initiative
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight timelines
- Demonstrated knowledge of digital publishing, book marketing, and the social media landscape
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
