About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape Harvey's product security roadmap
- Lead a team of Product Security Engineers
- Embed security into the engineering organization
- Own defined areas of Harvey's production surface
- Partner with product and platform engineers on architecture, design decisions, and security tooling
- Translate security strategy into focused priorities and measurable team outcomes
- Hire, develop, and lead Product Security Engineers
- Align security investments with business priorities and platform realities
- Own team planning, prioritization, and delivery
- Provide technical direction on architecture reviews, threat modeling, and remediation
- Scale team impact through automation, developer tooling, and secure-by-default patterns
- Improve security standards and engineering practices
- Communicate risks and progress to engineering leaders
- Build alignment on priorities and hold the team accountable for security improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience managing Product Security or Application Security engineers at a growing technology company
- Strong engineering background with deep expertise in modern application security and cloud-native architectures
- Track record of delivering security improvements through engineering, automation, and close partnership with development teams
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing security engineers
- Focus on technical growth and clear ownership
- Ability to translate broader security goals into focused priorities and measurable outcomes
