About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process accurate and timely payroll for all employees while ensuring federal, state, and local compliance
  • Ensure payroll accuracy and timely processing
  • Review and approve termination checks
  • Collaborate with People Ops on payroll components of health, dental, vision, retirement, and other company-sponsored benefits
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Workday enhancements
  • Prepare and maintain records for internal and external audits and assist with compliance audits
  • Maintain confidentiality, data security, data integrity, and accurate employee records
  • Assist with month-end close tasks related to payroll entries
  • Lead the annual 401(k) audit and complete funding reconciliation after each payroll
  • Perform quarterly Form 941 filings and state tax reconciliations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ years of payroll experience
  • Preferably 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Bachelor's degree (Business or related preferred)
  • CPP highly preferred
  • Experience implementing or operating within a Workday HRIS environment
  • Experience with payroll accounting and tax
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving ability and adaptability to changing requirements and pressure
  • Sense of urgency around the US payroll process
  • Comfort supporting multiple time zones
  • Legal authorization to work in the country where the role is located
  • Ability to work from the listed office location 3 days per week under Harvey's hybrid work model
