About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and ship production-level code across the stack
- Maintain high quality, reliability, and security standards
- Use AI-assisted development tools daily and own the quality of shipped work
- Collaborate with AI Research, Legal Engineering, Product, and Design
- Translate problem statements into compelling product experiences
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
- Develop engineering best practices alongside senior and staff engineers
- Experiment with and evaluate cutting-edge LLMs and AI systems
- Contribute to Harvey’s platform evolution
- Work on retrieval over large document collections, AI collaboration interfaces, multi-region compute infrastructure, enterprise agents, or secure systems for sensitive client data, depending on team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- Graduation between Winter 2026 and Spring 2027
- Able to work from the New York or San Francisco office starting in January 2027 and beyond
- Previous internship experience required
- Strong proficiency in one or more languages: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, Go, or similar
- Solid general computer science knowledge
- Experience building something from start to finish in coursework, a personal project, or a past internship
- Ability to explain complex technical ideas in plain language
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor
- Curiosity about incorporating LLMs into coding workflows
