About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the final stage of clients' personal injury cases
  • Ensure settlement funds are accounted for, negotiated down where possible, and disbursed accurately and on time
  • Provide clients with detailed disbursement of settlement funds
  • Negotiate insurance and provider reimbursements to maximize clients' net compensation
  • Attend weekly firm-wide huddles and daily team mini huddles
  • Attend biweekly Team Lead meetings with prepared individual metrics and goals
  • Enter settlement details on the Medicare portal within 24 hours of settlement
  • Verify subrogation ledger claims within 2 days of receiving the final ledger
  • Attempt partial or full distribution of settlement funds within 5 days of receiving the settlement check
  • Complete final disbursement of TRU cases within 60–90 days
  • Complete at least 7 settlement distributions every two weeks
  • Keep overdue tasks below 30
  • Draft, update, and finalize settlement distribution packets within 3 days of receiving a Settlement Note email
  • Contact adjusters by phone, email, and correspondence to follow up on ledgers and reductions
  • Verify subrogation, lien, and medical bill balances
  • Negotiate health insurance, med pay subrogation claims, and liens
  • Update status comments in settled cases
  • Report directly to the Settlement Department Team Lead and secondarily to the Settlement Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of direct personal injury settlement experience, including lien negotiation, subrogation, and Medicare/Medicaid claims
  • Demonstrated experience creating settlement distribution materials/packets
  • Deep understanding of subrogation
  • Basic level arithmetic
  • High organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks regularly
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Vigorous verbal negotiation skills
  • Professional attire and demeanor
  • Extensive knowledge of case management software
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Team player
  • Ability to work during Mountain Time business hours
  • Ability to pass a background check
