About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform data management activities for clinical research projects in accordance with Good Clinical Practices and applicable procedures, guidelines, laws, and regulations
Ensure visit data is uploaded to the Hawthorne platform within specified timelines
Review project data and deliver it promptly to key stakeholders
Communicate timeline expectations to in-house cardiology and sonography teams
Request and manage source/data corrections
Upload and enter data into third-party platforms, including echo images
Review and resolve data queries
Participate in database lock activities
Perform regular data quality checks
Review data for completeness and data quality/integrity according to ALCOA+
Escalate or mitigate data issues according to Hawthorne standards
Work with multiple software programs
Assist in identifying potential adverse events
Notify appropriate stakeholders of potential adverse events according to safety reporting timelines
Maintain project documents and the project TMF
Train, mentor, and coach other sonographers
Provide project support to the clinical operations team
Report directly to Clinical Research Manager(s), with oversight from the Director of Clinical Research Operations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Dual registered: cardiac and vascular required
Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences-related field preferred
2-4 years of sonography experience
1-2 years of clinical trial and data management experience
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP)
Strong skills in the use of technology, tools, operating systems, and software
Strong organizational skills with experience balancing priorities and resources
Strong attention to detail
Creative and resourceful problem-solver with strong critical thinking skills
Expert at planning, anticipating challenges and opportunities, and proactively taking steps to avoid issues or operationalize new ideas
Able to work thoughtfully and decisively, anticipating the need to involve others, to foster an inclusive work environment
Experience with electronic data capture (EDC) systems, including Oracle Clinical and/or Medidata Rave, preferred
Experience training sonographers, preferred
