About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive the strategic development of procurement while also contributing to day-to-day operational activities
  • Identify new suppliers and sources of supply
  • Develop and strengthen existing supplier partnerships
  • Independently negotiate prices, terms and conditions, and contracts
  • Analyze markets, cost structures, opportunities, and risks
  • Derive and implement specific action plans
  • Deliver measurable improvements in purchase prices, supply reliability, and processes
  • Challenge existing procedures and consistently implement improvements
  • Take ownership of topics from analysis through to results
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and adjacent departments
  • Report directly to the Managing Director
  • Take on professional or personnel management responsibility in the future

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed university degree, ideally in business, engineering, or a comparable field
  • Initial relevant professional experience in procurement
  • Demonstrable track record, for example in negotiations, cost savings, supplier development, identifying new sources of supply, or process improvements
  • Analytical mindset and strong commercial acumen
  • A commitment to not only identify opportunities, but also implement them
  • Meticulous working style and strong quality standards
  • Initiative, decisiveness, and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Willingness to develop into a leadership role over time
  • Enjoy challenging the status quo and finding better solutions
  • Very good written and spoken German and English
  • Experience in medical devices or healthcare is an advantage but not a prerequisite
