About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership and day-to-day operational oversight of the Medicines Management Technician service
- Work closely with the Pharmacy Leadership Team to drive service improvements
- Support the development of the technical team
- Lead a team of Medicines Management Technicians
- Ensure accurate medicines reconciliation
- Provide evidence-based medication counselling and advice
- Ensure a seamless discharge experience for patients
- Contribute to workforce planning, training and development
- Conduct service audits and performance reporting
- Support quality improvement initiatives
- Help maintain high standards of patient care and safety
Requirements
What you’ll need- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) — Essential
- Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) accreditation — Essential
- Medicines Management/Medicines Optimisation qualification — Essential
- Level 4 post-qualification or equivalent (NVQ4) — Desirable
- Significant experience in medicines management/optimisation within a hospital setting — Essential
- Strong dispensary experience and knowledge of pharmacy operational services — Essential
- Proven leadership, people management and service improvement skills — Desirable
- Contribution to weekend shifts and on-calls on a rota basis
- Full-time availability, 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday 0900–1730
