About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead complex business, operational, product, and technology projects from initiation through implementation and closeout
  • Establish project governance, delivery structure, scope, objectives, success measures, milestones, and implementation approach
  • Translate strategic business objectives into actionable project plans with deliverables, owners, dependencies, and timelines
  • Own project performance across scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and business outcomes
  • Drive execution across cross-functional teams, resolve obstacles and conflicts, and facilitate timely decisions
  • Manage scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, vendor costs, financial performance, and formal change control
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies; develop mitigation and contingency plans
  • Serve as the primary delivery leader and central point of accountability for assigned projects
  • Provide project updates, recommendations, risks, and decisions to executives, steering committees, and governance groups
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across insurance operations, underwriting, product, technology, data, finance, legal, compliance, and other functions
  • Lead initiatives involving insurance platforms, digital products, workflow automation, systems integration, data solutions, operational transformation, and customer-facing technology
  • Coordinate requirements, solution design, testing, implementation, release planning, deployment, and post-launch stabilization
  • Incorporate security, privacy, compliance, data integrity, regulatory, contractual, audit, and operational-resilience considerations
  • Manage software providers, consultants, implementation partners, vendor plans, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and performance
  • Integrate change management, communication, training, adoption, and business-readiness activities into delivery plans
  • Lead steering committee meetings, executive reviews, working sessions, and delivery checkpoints
  • Develop status reports, executive presentations, dashboards, forecasts, decision materials, and project records
  • Conduct project closeout reviews, capture lessons learned, and contribute to PMO standards, methodologies, governance, and portfolio reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, Technology, Finance, Insurance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Five or more years of project management experience, including direct accountability for complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects through the complete lifecycle, from business case and planning through implementation and closeout
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, vendors, and organizational change
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and driving accountability without direct supervisory authority
  • Experience presenting project status, recommendations, risks, and decisions to senior leaders and executive stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, governance practices, and delivery controls
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery approaches
  • Strong analytical, financial, organizational, facilitation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly to both business and technical audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise project management or work-management platforms
  • Ability to lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving, and geographically distributed environment
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe, or comparable professional certification
  • Preferred: Experience delivering projects within an Insurtech, insurance carrier, managing general agent, financial services, or regulated technology environment
  • Preferred: Knowledge of commercial insurance, specialty insurance, underwriting, policy administration, claims, billing, finance, or insurance distribution processes
  • Preferred: Experience leading insurance platform implementations, digital transformation, workflow automation, systems integration, or data initiatives
  • Preferred: Familiarity with policy administration, underwriting, customer relationship management, claims, billing, finance, or data platforms
  • Preferred: Experience working with software development, product management, data, information security, and quality-assurance teams
  • Preferred: Experience managing third-party software providers, consultants, and implementation partners
  • Preferred: Familiarity with regulatory, privacy, cybersecurity, audit, and operational-control considerations in a regulated environment
  • Preferred: Experience developing business cases, project budgets, financial forecasts, or benefit-realization measures
  • Must live in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States without requirement of employment sponsorship/visa
