About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Partner with Product and Engineering during product design and development to implement new features securely
Participate in implementation efforts
Conduct security reviews
Help with product design decisions
Audit and surface vulnerabilities in current products
Build agentic security tooling and AI-native product security workflows across the codebase
Define and build application guardrails so developers can build securely by default
Instill a culture of secure development across engineering
Assist with incident response, vulnerability management, penetration testing, security reviews, and other security operations
Help maintain a world-class security program

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years experience in security and/or software engineering roles
Demonstrated history of working on security-related projects or with responsibilities as a security generalist
Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams
Technical experience building secure platforms and products at a deep level
Experience performing security design and code reviews
Interest in understanding security systems and improving their efficiency and scalability
Interest in AI-native product security and agentic workflows
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Interest in implementing security and privacy technologies
Motivation by Headway’s mission
Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
Python 3 and TypeScript experience
Experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, React, Postgres, Redis, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Datadog, PagerDuty, GitHub, Snyk, and Semgrep
