About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in HCSC's formal internship program and support business objectives and member-focused solutions
- Work with cross-functional business and technical teams
- Contribute to infrastructure project work, analyze information, and support solution development
- Learn and apply organizational processes, programs, and technologies with increasing independence
- Create, drive, and deliver entry-level IT infrastructure initiatives
- Review infrastructure playbooks and suggest modifications
- Gain understanding of infrastructure processes
- Perform basic troubleshooting
- Learn tools used by Infrastructure teams
- Own components of project work and deliverables with guidance from a mentor and manager
- Conduct research, analyze data and information, and develop recommendations for business decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Support departmental initiatives improving business outcomes and member and client experience
- Develop and deliver a final internship presentation to department leadership covering the project, results, and recommendations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Pursuing a bachelor's degree; rising senior with a major in computer science, information technology, or information systems; other majors may be considered
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Available for the full duration of the 10-week program
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available
- Prior related technical internship or work experience is a plus
- Interest or experience with IT systems, cloud platforms, or automation tools is a strong plus
- Interest or experience with operating systems, networks, and IT peripherals is a strong plus
- Involvement in IT-related associations/organizations or relevant technical competitions is a plus
- Interest in the healthcare payer industry or beginning a career in IT
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and ability to grasp new and unfamiliar concepts
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to prioritize and support multiple projects
- Practical, developed PC skills, especially Office 365 and virtual team collaboration tools such as MS Teams and SharePoint
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, and applicable compliance policies
