About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead accountants and accounting clerks
  • Manage workflow, coaching and feedback, training, and employee development
  • Provide input to goal setting, hiring/selection, and performance reviews
  • Oversee the department’s daily and weekly accounting activities
  • Ensure billing and balancing issues are resolved
  • Oversee delinquency monitoring, settlements, renewals, claims exceptions, and sub ledger and general ledger entries
  • Review accuracy of account setup for billing new ASO accounts
  • Review weekly and monthly billing and settlement credit and debit adjustments before entry
  • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Document new processes and procedures
  • Recommend and implement process improvements
  • Provide training for new employees in department functions and policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor Degree in Business
  • 3 years accounting experience
  • PC proficiency including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Employee development, work management, and motivation skills
  • Clear, concise oral and written communication, with good grammar and word choice, matched to the audience
  • Self motivated/self starter
  • Sponsorship is not available
  • Preferred: Accounting Degree
  • Preferred: Statutory and Regulatory reporting
  • Preferred: Journal entries and Reconciliation experience
  • Preferred: Experience with delinquency and collection policy
  • Oracle and cloud experience is a plus
