About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead strategic sourcing and category management for clinical platforms and healthcare technology solutions
  • Evaluate and discuss SaaS solutions, platform architecture, API integrations, interoperability, data platforms, and technology-enabled healthcare services
  • Partner with business stakeholders, clinical teams, IT leaders, and suppliers
  • Identify, develop, and execute sourcing and procurement strategies
  • Conduct needs analysis and evaluate sourcing options
  • Support supplier selection and negotiations
  • Oversee contracts and support contract drafting
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives
  • Manage supplier risk and business relationships
  • Provide thought leadership across complex spend categories
  • Leverage market intelligence, supplier roadmaps, and negotiation strategies
  • Facilitate requirements and develop supplier partnerships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years progressive experience in procurement, supplier management, category management
  • Proficient at MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strategic and innovative thinker able to influence and advise the business areas
  • Strong executive presence with outstanding interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Critical thinking, analytical skills and business acumen
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Consistent thought leadership
  • Understanding of Payor clinical ecosystem
  • Comfortable discussing SAAS, platform architecture, API integrations, data platforms, etc.
  • Understanding of how health plans operate and connect procurement decisions to medical cost, quality, member/provider experience and regulatory requirements
  • Management or team supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of e-Procurement systems and tools; experience utilizing Procure-to-Pay and Contracting modules or similar procurement systems
  • MBA, Masters Degree
