About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design enhancements and new business applications and/or information systems solutions by integrating technical and business requirements
Identify optimal technical solutions and produce technical specifications within the code environment
Link Business Analyst needs and Architect definitions to technical solutions
Ensure integrity, security, scalability, and daily availability of databases supporting Health Spring Medicare applications
Develop detailed technical specifications and designs for waterfall/XP projects and system enhancements
Provide application domain knowledge to the ADM team
Help resolve incidents and issues in unstable applications and systems
Support infrastructure first builds with Solution Architects and Infrastructure Engineers
Review, guide, troubleshoot, and resolve contentious implementation issues
Evaluate integration of SaaS/COTS packages into the current environment
Develop operating procedures and user manuals for routine operations
Build knowledge databases for technology, solutions, and domain areas
Collaborate with architecture, application services, infrastructure, release management, and other stakeholders for smooth deployment
Capture and transfer tacit knowledge to vendors and knowledge management systems
Maintain the common I/O access subsystem and database access layer
Maintain in-house utilities supporting database management and integrity
Manage test platforms and files used by developers
Translate business and technical requirements into secure, robust, scalable, and extensible designs
Manage VSAM performance through proper design, buffering, and key design
Administer and use the CICS VR forward recovery utility
Write or review audit-request responses, SDO severity reports, and authorization reports
Perform CICS ABEND reporting
Conduct production and test problem determination and debugging
Perform capacity planning
Test selected system software upgrades
Incorporate application cost optimization practices, including the Intelligent Reliability Operations module, to improve system stability and reduce operational expenses (PE Only)

Requirements

Bachelor Degree and 4 years Information Technology experience OR Technical Certification and/or College Courses and 6 years Information Technology experience OR 8 years Information Technology experience
Knowledge of application configuration
Experience in Service Oriented Architecture - SOAP / REST
Knowledge of Big Data Analytics - HAVeN / HADOOP/ Autonomy / Vertica
Knowledge of Cloud computing / SaaS / IaaS / PaaS technologies
Knowledge of Integration Technologies - Tibco/Informatica/CAS
Knowledge of Mobile technologies - Phonegap / iOS / Android / Java / HTML5
