About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in the completion of remote and on-site chart audits for clients regarding clinical, HOPE, and billing issues
- Conduct ADR/UPIC/SMRC/OIG chart reviews for clients upon request
- Document summary reports regarding audit results and forward them to the supervisor and client
- Possibly conduct mock surveys for hospice agencies
- Keep updated on Medicare hospice issues using websites, teleconferences, newsletters, magazines, and other resources
- Answer clinical questions from clients or potential clients by email
- Participate in teleconferences, meetings, and forums focused on Medicare hospice issues
- Potentially perform related research and write hospice-related articles for the HPS Blog
- Travel approximately one-third of the time
- Provide clinical consulting services to home care and hospice clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 2 years of experience in hospice auditing/compliance, preferably the last two years
- Travel at least 1/3 of the time
- Registered Nurse or Therapist
- Experience with Mock Surveys
- Experience in multiple EMR systems for hospice is a MUST
- Ability to work full-time
- Salary-exempt
