About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate with intellectual curiosity and critically assess existing processes and procedures to identify improvement opportunities
Develop complex analyses integrating multiple data sources, evaluating data quality, and standardizing data formats and structures
Create advanced queries and reports, including nested tables, temporary tables, and multiple conditions across varying datasets
Summarize and present data outcomes, recommendations, and methodology to analytics leadership, department leadership, and enterprise stakeholders
Learn and leverage analytical tools and technologies, including Amazon Redshift procedures and Alteryx workflows
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, quality, and relevance of analytical deliverables from data gathering through presentation
Apply documentation, coding style, and commenting best practices for persistence, reusability, and scalability
Document and escalate data issues as appropriate
Collaborate on data projects with cross-departmental and interdisciplinary teams
Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent relevant work experience
Working experience exhibiting strong critical thinking and analytical skills
Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP and VBA
Familiarity with SQL and/or SAS queries
Familiarity with relational database structures, theories, principles and practices
Familiarity with data models and/or data modelling
Ability to understand the data lifecycle within the organization and its impact on the business
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills with good grammar, spelling and punctuation
Work experience requiring meticulous attention to detail
Preferred: degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Sciences, Engineering, Business Analytics, Informatics, or similar concentration
Preferred: professional SQL experience
Preferred: experience with Alteryx, Tableau, Amazon Redshift, QlikView, or similar tools/platforms
Preferred: familiarity with statistical principles, including standard deviations, normal distributions, and regressions
Preferred: familiarity with Python and/or R
Preferred: familiarity with healthcare data
Preferred: ability to balance independent work with knowing when to escalate questions/issues
Preferred: ability to work effectively with business and technical stakeholders
No license or certification required
