About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with the Creative Director to develop and evolve visual identities, creative vision, and design standards for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen
- Design editorial layouts, feature packages, celebrity profiles, and special projects across print and digital platforms
- Create graphics, logos, branding assets, and creative collateral for websites, social media, video series, live events, and cross-platform initiatives
- Collaborate with editors, writers, photographers, video producers, social teams, and special projects partners
- Define, document, and improve creative workflows and design processes
- Commission and art direct freelance illustrators and creative contributors
- Oversee image selection, color approval, and photo retouching direction
- Deliver high-impact creative work while balancing priorities and meeting deadlines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of experience in consumer editorial design, including experience across both digital and print platforms
- Expertise in editorial design, typography, branding, and visual storytelling
- Experience developing brand identity systems, logos, templates, and cohesive visual languages across multiple platforms
- Strong conceptual thinking skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing polished, high-quality work
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Bridge
- Strong knowledge of magazine design, photography, illustration, color management, and production workflows
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects
- Experience improving creative processes and streamlining workflows
- Position based in New York, NY with a hybrid schedule requiring four days per week in the office
