About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare editorial content for Hearst Newspapers print editions
  • Perform page layout and section organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Page layout and section organization
  • Copy editing, including headline writing and caption writing
  • Ability to finish and typeset a page on time
  • Experience in print news production
  • Ability to work with multiple products and multiple people with a customer-service focus
  • Newspaper editing, headline writing and caption writing
  • Aptitude in sports story and page editing is a plus
  • Newspaper page proofing
  • Excellent literacy in English
  • CUE/CCI experience is a plus
  • Sports journalism specialty and ability to work in other parts of the operation outside of sports
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to vary editing and finishing depth across roles
