About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Answer incoming calls from pet families during the 10 PM–6 AM overnight shift
- Provide calm, compassionate support during emotional and end-of-life conversations
- Explain Heartstrings services and appointment availability
- Gather and accurately document pet and family information
- Schedule in-home veterinary appointments
- Support families with hospice, quality-of-life, and end-of-life care questions
- Coordinate with veterinarians and internal team members
- Maintain accurate records and meet quality, attendance, and performance standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in customer service, call centers, veterinary reception, veterinary client service, healthcare scheduling, or remote support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Compassion and emotional intelligence when assisting grieving or distressed families
- Strong attention to detail and computer skills
- Ability to learn scheduling, CRM, phone, email, mapping, and other cloud-based systems
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Dependable attendance and punctuality throughout the overnight shift
- Previous veterinary or animal-care experience is a plus
- Ability to work the 10:00 PM–6:00 AM third shift
