About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the closed-end fund accounting process under HedgeServ guidelines and supervision of a Private Equity Managing Director
  • Manage timely and accurate delivery of NAV calculations
  • Assist in developing client relationships and understand service requirements for closed-end fund administration
  • Manage the day-to-day Private Equity team
  • Process capital calls and distributions
  • Prepare net asset value calculations and financial statements
  • Calculate fees and profit and loss allocations
  • Create and maintain waterfalls
  • Produce performance reporting, including IRRs
  • Prepare ad hoc client and investor reporting
  • Manage client relationships and coordinate with clients and the Private Equity Managing Director
  • Ensure the accounting team operates within the defined control environment
  • Manage and develop client teams of up to 10 employees
  • Resolve escalated fund accounting enquiries
  • Develop and improve workflows and procedures
  • Manage fund audits through timely and successful completion
  • Manage client onboarding and transitions
  • Manage fund accounting recruitment, training, and performance evaluations
  • Maintain effective working relationships with stakeholder groups
  • Adapt to client structures, requirements, and business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years’ experience working in a Hedge Fund Administration firm, with at least 3 years at Supervisor level desired
  • Alternative Hedge Fund or Private Equity Fund experience will be considered
  • Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Business Degree
  • Intention to actively pursue a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA), if not already started, part qualified or qualified, would be an advantage but is not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good people manager with the ability to coach and develop a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be flexible and work effectively both within a team structure or independently
  • Strong inter-personal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Strong systems, product and process knowledge; Investran experience ideal
  • Committed to delivery of results
  • Strong client focus and stakeholder management skills
