About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage, maintain, and optimize the hosting infrastructure based on AlmaLinux, CloudLinux, Proxmox VE, and cPanel
  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate recurring tasks
  • Use modern AI tools to improve efficiency and support troubleshooting
  • Perform occasional hands-on work at data centers in the greater Vienna area, including racking, cabling, hardware replacements, and maintenance
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security
  • Participate in the on-call rotation following the onboarding period
  • Diagnose and resolve issues at the operating system, network, and application levels
  • Collaborate within a virtual and in-person team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed IT education or training (HTL, IT specialist qualification, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience as a career changer)
  • Initial experience in Linux systems administration
  • Solid foundational knowledge of Linux, particularly the Red Hat family, AlmaLinux, and CloudLinux
  • Interest in virtualization solutions such as Proxmox VE
  • Initial hands-on experience with, or strong enthusiasm for, Ansible and scripting with Bash and Python
  • Experience with, or interest in, structured workflows supported by AI tools
  • Residence in the greater Vienna area
  • Independent, structured working style and strong self-organization in a remote setup
  • Basic understanding of DNS, web servers, cPanel, and mail hosting
  • Very good written and spoken German
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Linux certifications such as LPI-1/2 or RHEL certifications are an advantage
