About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare layouts, details, schedules, drawings and other documents for mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, refrigeration, technology and/or electrical systems
- Create project BIM Execution Plans and incorporate project requirements and standards into BIM workflows
- Lead BEP development for architects and maintain BIM process, workflow and standards documentation
- Perform or direct model setup and routine maintenance tasks
- Ensure BIM models meet industry and organizational standards
- Review BIM model health, integrity and compliance; identify issues and implement improvements
- Generate clash reports and collaborate with project teams to resolve clashes
- Calculate quantities and perform engineering-related computations
- Create advanced families and schedules
- Develop complex scripts and automation tools to improve BIM workflows
- Maintain expertise in BIM software and assess new tools and technologies
- Support business development and strategic partner/customer relationships
- Participate in client, company and industry events
- Communicate with clients and architects regarding requirements and scope
- Lead BIM coordination meetings
- Research industry trends, products, codes and standards and share technical improvements
- Conduct Revit training sessions
- Perform limited project management responsibilities under supervision
- Support BIM-related project coordination, including email and scope coordination, scheduling, client meetings, quality, client questions and project delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Associate degree in relevant BIM field and 6 years of relevant, progressive experience, or 8 years of progressive experience without a degree, required
- BIM-related certificate from an accredited institution may count toward 1 year of experience
- Intermediate knowledge of engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards
- Intermediate working knowledge of BIM technology, BIM software interoperability, computing technologies and industry-specific standards
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, Dynamo, Imaginit Clarity and Advanced Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Proven ability to understand and troubleshoot BIM-related software
- High technical aptitude and ability to learn and use various systems and processes
- Ability to train others on systems and processes
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to influence or make decisions and solve complex problems using reasoning and judgment
- Ability to work collaboratively, lead less experienced BIM Technicians, and work independently
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments, priorities and organizational needs
- Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and adjust to coaching
- Proven ability to take initiative and help others as needed
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Occasional travel availability (10-15%)
