About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct and delegated patient care for facility clients
- Maintain knowledge of normal and abnormal parameters identifying at-risk clients
- Respond to telephone calls and triage appropriately
- Provide patient reassurance, accurate teaching, and direction
- Ensure efficient healthcare delivery throughout patient visits
- Complete, update, and maintain accurate medical records
- Initiate patient contact and prepare patients for examination
- Obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
- Observe abnormal signs and symptoms, communicate conditions to physicians, and document findings
- Ensure patient understanding of physician instructions upon discharge
- Enter medical record and charge information into the electronic medical record for billing
- Assist physicians with testing, treatment procedures, splints, dressings, minor surgeries, and physicals
- Follow physician orders and maintain sample medication logs
- Arrange and administer necessary testing or admissions; obtain referrals and retrieve test results
- Obtain consents before invasive procedures or immunizations
- Distribute patient education materials and assist with treatment and medication instructions
- Perform prescribed laboratory tests and treatments and maintain laboratory logs
- Stock and maintain patient-care areas, equipment, supplies, and educational materials
- Keep exam rooms clean, organized, and compliant with cleaning protocols
- Ensure instruments are sterile and equipment is functioning properly
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or accredited Nursing Program
- Work shift: 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40 (80 hours bi-weekly)
