Medical Assistant, Full Time

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in delivering healthcare and managing patient care in a clinical capacity
- Provide patient care according to standards and guidelines
- Respond to telephone calls and triage appropriately
- Reassure, teach, and direct patients
- Ensure efficient healthcare delivery throughout patient visits
- Complete, update, and maintain accurate medical records
- Prepare patients for examinations and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
- Observe abnormal signs and symptoms, communicate conditions to physicians, and document findings
- Ensure patient understanding of physician instructions at discharge
- Enter medical record and charge information into the electronic medical record for billing
- Assist physicians with testing, treatments, splints, dressings, minor surgeries, and physicals
- Perform physician orders, laboratory tests, and prescribed treatments
- Manage sample medications, medication logs, referrals, consents, test results, and patient notifications
- Distribute patient education materials and assist with treatment and medication-use instruction
- Maintain laboratory logs and stock, clean, organize, and maintain patient care areas and equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or accredited Nursing Program
- Ability to work 1st shift, 7:45am–4:45pm Monday–Friday
- Ability to work 40 scheduled hours per week
