About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and program complex automation solutions for machinery and process engineering plants
- Manage investment, modernization, and maintenance projects from planning through implementation
- Create and optimize PLC programs as well as HMI and SCADA systems for controlling and monitoring plants
- Integrate automation components and third-party systems, and implement interfaces to IT, MES, and ERP systems
- Develop technical solution concepts, specifications, and user requirement specifications in close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Conduct testing and commissioning
- Analyze faults and improve the performance of automation solutions
- Coordinate external engineering firms and suppliers
- Monitor technical implementation and perform technical acceptance of completed work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
- In-depth knowledge of PLC engineering and programming using SIMATIC TIA Portal, STEP 7 Classic, and SIMATIC Safety
- Experience with drive technology, particularly SINAMICS
- Practical experience with HMI and SCADA systems such as WinCC V7/V8, WinCC Advanced, and WinCC Unified
- Good knowledge of communication and fieldbus systems (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, IO-Link) and industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, BACnet)
- Understanding of technical standards, functional safety, machinery compliance, and industrial cybersecurity
- Experience in mechanical engineering or process automation
- Very good German language skills
- Good English language skills
