About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure the timely availability of materials, merchandise, and external manufacturing services in line with requirements
Take responsibility for procurement planning for externally sourced materials, merchandise, and products
Prepare rolling supplier forecasts based on requirements, inventory levels, replenishment lead times, and capacities
Derive reliable procurement plans
Manage outsourced contract manufacturing processes, from material provision and production planning through to on-time return deliveries
Monitor order progress
Continuously develop planning strategies, taking supply security, inventory levels, costs, and flexibility into account
Assess competing priorities and independently initiate appropriate measures
Coordinate planning activities with Demand Planning, Procurement, suppliers, and contract manufacturers
Prepare well-founded decisions in the event of bottlenecks or deviations from plan
Optimize MRP processes in SAP S/4HANA
Further develop master data and planning parameters
Implement business requirements in collaboration with IT and the relevant departments
In the longer term, assume the role of SAP Key User for relevant planning and procurement processes
Support system testing and releases
Support users with functional questions
Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements when making changes to materials, suppliers, and contract manufacturing processes
Work closely with Quality and Regulatory Affairs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed university degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience in procurement planning, material requirements planning, material planning, or Materials Management, ideally involving external manufacturing or contract manufacturing processes
Very good knowledge of SAP S/4HANA
Strong understanding of MRP, master data, and planning parameters
Understanding of the interrelationships between demand, inventory, purchase orders, contract manufacturing orders, and delivery dates
Experience preparing supplier forecasts, managing inventory, and developing planning and MRP processes
Understanding of quality and regulatory requirements in a regulated production environment, ideally in the medical-device, pharmaceutical, or a comparable industry
Structured and analytical approach to work
Ability to independently assess complex planning situations, set priorities, and make clear, well-reasoned decisions
Clear and reliable communication skills, along with enthusiasm for working with internal departments, suppliers, and international partners
Very good written and spoken German and English skills
