About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead technical projects in mechanical and plant engineering, as well as infrastructure projects, from project definition through handover to operations or production
- Develop project concepts, prepare feasibility studies, and define projects in accordance with the Engineering process framework
- Assemble and manage interdisciplinary project teams
- Coordinate external planning offices, plant engineering contractors, and service providers
- Take responsibility for quality, schedule, cost, and budget targets, including CapEx monitoring, forecasts, and regular status reports
- Analyze risks and technical issues, and conduct FMEA and warranty cost analyses
- Evaluate and select components, plants, and systems based on technical and commercial criteria
- Prepare and review calculations, tender documents, and quotations
- Support contract awards and prepare bid comparison sheets in coordination with Procurement
- Develop and coordinate specifications and statements of work with suppliers and contractors
- Ensure compliance with legal and technical requirements, particularly the EU Machinery Regulation, the Bavarian Building Code (BayBO), and the Bavarian Technical Building Regulations (BayTB)
- Coordinate and monitor execution, commissioning, acceptance, and documentation
- Handover plants, services, and documentation to the relevant departments upon project completion
- Continuously optimize existing processes and, where necessary, coordinate troubleshooting teams or task forces
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in technical project management, ideally in an industrial or infrastructure environment
- Knowledge of mechanical and plant engineering, infrastructure planning, and relevant standards and guidelines
- Familiarity with the Bavarian Building Code (BayBO), particularly Article 81a concerning Technical Building Regulations
- Experience with project management methodologies
- Good command of English
- Proficiency in project management tools, such as MS Project and think-cell
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Outstanding analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Collaborative approach to team-based and interdisciplinary work
