About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Full responsibility for investment projects in the chemical industry, including new construction projects, optimization initiatives, and replacement investments
- Preparation of concept studies, detailed plans, and layouts, including the associated cost calculations
- Participation in risk assessments and HAZOP analyses
- Definition of workflows and material flows in accordance with Heraeus corporate standards and Lean principles
- Responsibility for project management and adherence to budgets
- Commissioning of machinery and supporting production ramp-up through final acceptance
- Management and coordination of external contractors
- Support for project work within the Engineering team
- Technical point of contact for operational departments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed degree in engineering, industrial engineering, or a comparable technical field
- At least three years of relevant professional experience in the chemical industry or a manufacturing company
- Experience implementing engineering projects within an international corporation
- Extensive knowledge of the design, planning, specification, and commissioning of complex process and production engineering facilities
- Experience providing project-related technical guidance to employees
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and flexible approach to work
- Very good proficiency in MS Office applications
- Fluent German and good English skills
- Desirable: experience in cleanroom technology, working with SAP and standard CAD tools, and preparing P&ID diagrams
