About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and own Hercules' billing, payments, and monetization infrastructure
  • Own plans, subscriptions, entitlements, prorations, credits, and one-time charges
  • Implement usage-based billing for AI credits, Cloud credits, usage metering, and overage charges
  • Integrate payment providers such as Stripe, Adyen, and PayPal
  • Support multiple payment methods and currencies
  • Build Hercules Commerce capabilities for customers to transact with their customers inside their apps
  • Develop fast, resilient infrastructure with webhook processing, retries, and reconciliation
  • Scale billing and transaction infrastructure as usage and transaction volumes grow

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience with billing and payments, including providers like Stripe and Adyen, subscriptions, usage-based billing, and regulation
  • Strong software fundamentals in system design, architecture, data modeling, and API design
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code and work effectively in monorepos
  • Track record of independently shipping lots of features to customers
  • Experience with TypeScript, React, containers, Postgres, Redis, and Temporal
  • Ability to use AI coding tools at the frontier to significantly accelerate workflow
  • Willingness to work in US time zones for remote work
  • Willingness to travel to the San Francisco office regularly for remote work
