Set technical priorities within the team and coordinate complex engineering work
Drive API- and integration-related initiatives
Shape engineering decisions at squad level and help define the technical strategy
Develop scalable integrations, reliable interfaces, and sustainable platform capabilities
Write high-quality, secure, and performant code
Strengthen engineering best practices, resilience, backward compatibility, and maintainability
Break down complex requirements into pragmatic technical solutions
Translate product and business needs into reusable engineering capabilities
Drive process improvements and address technical debt strategically
Strengthen the scalability, security, and reliability of HERO Software’s integration systems
Act as a technical sparring partner and subject-matter contact
Support colleagues in their development and contribute to cross-squad initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong full-stack engineering expertise
High standards for clean, efficient, and maintainable code
Strong judgment when making technical decisions
Experience and competence in API-driven and integration-heavy challenges
Understanding of reliability, clarity, and consistency in interface design
Clear communication and close collaboration across engineering and product teams
Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly
Willingness to take ownership beyond individual tasks
Enjoyment of supporting colleagues, sharing knowledge, and providing technical leadership to other engineers
Architectural perspective with a focus on scalability, reliability, and technical excellence
German at least at C1 level
Fluent English
