About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own end-to-end solution design for assigned initiatives, from business requirements to go-live
Produce solution design documents and Architecture Decision Records covering options, trade-offs, integration points and data flows
Specify non-functional requirements for every design: availability, performance, recovery, security, retention and cost
Run architecture reviews and engage relevant domain architects
Estimate design costs before commitment and validate high-risk decisions through proofs of concept
Serve as the designated contact for assigned IT vertical groups on cross-domain and global initiatives
Collaborate with architects, engineering teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, scalable solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
10+ years designing and delivering solutions across more than one technology domain
Fluency in English; additional languages would be considered an advantage
Deep expertise in distributed system design and integration architecture: REST, gRPC, event-driven patterns and interface versioning
Practical command of at least one modern language, and the ability to read Python, C#/.NET, TypeScript, Swift or Kotlin well enough to review a design
Solid understanding of AWS, containers, Kubernetes and CI/CD
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (Professional preferred) or equivalent experience
Strong data architecture skills across SQL and NoSQL databases: schema design, complex queries, query optimization and performance tuning
Excellent communicator who can translate complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders
