About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to the development of software components across the full stack using AWS services, Python, Flask, and SQL databases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and implement features
- Improve and expand existing enterprise tools and customer-facing products
- Ensure secure, seamless communication and data synchronization
- Participate in collaborative design and code reviews
- Document and clearly communicate designs to peers
- Test and validate designs for proper, bug-free operation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or a Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer or Electrical Engineering with a strong programming background
- Proficiency with Python
- Experience using and developing on Linux platforms
- Understanding of SQL databases (Postgres, MySQL) and database design principles
- Familiarity with protocols like ZeroMQ, SSH, HTTP and TLS
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and implementation best practices
- Ability to think creatively to overcome technical challenges
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Lambdas is preferred
- Proficiency with or willingness to learn C++ is preferred
- Experience with or a desire to learn about distributed sensor networks is preferred
- Only U.S. citizens can be considered for this position
- Employees must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if required for the position
