Key responsibilities & impact

Design and create engineering specifications for software applications and programs
Write code adhering to coding standards
Perform code reviews
Generate ideas and suggest technical solutions for required product features
Monitor technical progress against project plans while safeguarding functionality, scalability, and performance
Participate in all Scrum ceremonies
Assist with sprint planning and complete required development sprints through final execution
Communicate issues and blockers to the Scrum Master
Help create stories, including definition of done, acceptance criteria, and estimation
Create and update tasks in software such as RTC or Jira
Monitor work against production schedules
Provide progress updates and report technical issues to senior developers/principals
Build scalable software applications across digital channels as part of an agile software engineering team
Contribute to idea generation, business analysis, technical design, and software development using current technologies and design patterns
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be a US citizen due to contractual/access requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field
1 year proficiency in design and analysis of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns in building and deploying scalable, highly available systems
1 year experience in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, ACE, IIB/ITX, Informatica preferred)
Experience with at least two of: React, Angular v4+, NodeJS, NoSQL databases, HTML5, CSS, Google Cloud Platform, or Amazon Web Services
1 year understanding of web services technologies such as REST, HTTPS, and JSON
Preferred: Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
Preferred: 3 years with one or more general-purpose programming languages
Preferred: 3 years defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility trade-offs
Preferred: 3 years working with technology systems, designing solutions, or developing applications in healthcare
Preferred: 3 years translating design mockups, prototypes, and user stories into working applications
Preferred: 3 years producing fault-tolerant, efficient, and maintainable code
Understanding of IBM Mainframe technology, COBOL, JCL, and DB2
Experience with Generative AI and ethical utilization of AI tools
Experience with Visual Studio Code IDE
Interest and ability to learn other programming languages as needed
Experience working with agile Scrum methodology
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the full software development life cycle
Strong track record designing and implementing large-scale consumer-facing applications
Experience and willingness to mentor junior engineers
No required licenses or certifications
No language other than English required
