About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team of licensed clinical professionals delivering social work case management services
  • Oversee clinical quality, member outcomes, regulatory compliance, workforce development, and business performance
  • Manage daily unit operations, including staffing and scheduling
  • Make hiring and termination decisions, coach and develop staff, recognize performance, and manage productivity
  • Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control department operations
  • Develop and implement policies and programs and potentially manage budgets
  • Develop tactical plans, drive performance, and achieve targets with leadership
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for evidence-based social work practices, psychosocial assessments, interventions, and member advocacy
  • Ensure quality and consistency of member assessments, care plans, interventions, and documentation
  • Serve as a clinical resource and escalation point for complex psychosocial cases
  • Support staff development through assessment, coaching, education, and professional development
  • Review performance metrics and implement continual service improvements
  • Lead or participate in departmental and interdepartmental workgroups
  • Identify cost savings opportunities
  • Prepare for, participate in, and respond to internal and external audits
  • Monitor and improve engagement rates, care plan completion, program outcomes, quality measures, member satisfaction, and cost of care
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, CMS requirements, state and local regulations, and social work standards
  • Collaborate with Health Plan Operations, Provider Relations, Client Management, and other departments to improve member experiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's Degree - Social Work or Social Welfare, Counseling, Psychology, Public Health, Public Healthcare administration or other clinically relevant field
  • 5 years of health-related clinical work experience
  • 3 years' management, supervisory, team lead and/or project leadership experience
  • Required: Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Current State RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
  • Written and verbal presentation skills
  • Skills in positively influencing others with respect and compassion
  • Proficiency with clinical platforms, workflow technologies, reporting tools, and digital engagement solutions
  • Ability to use emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools
  • Understanding of healthcare cost drivers and the broader healthcare service system
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to lead a remote and/or geographically dispersed workforce through effective virtual leadership practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and consensus-building skills
  • Flexibility in a high-performing team environment
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills
