About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide specialty and critical care healthcare services within Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant scope of practice
- Manage acute and chronic health conditions for specific patient populations across physician offices, non-acute facilities, and inpatient environments
- Facilitate diagnostic and emergency care in outpatient and acute inpatient settings
- Order and interpret laboratory, advanced radiological, and specialized diagnostic studies
- Institute emergency measures and stabilization techniques for acute patient situations
- Prepare and electronically prescribe medications; administer medications and injections
- Perform minor bedside surgical and complex specialty-specific procedures
- Coordinate complex care with patients, families, community services, and interdisciplinary teams
- Initiate consultations for cases exceeding scope or requiring higher-level medical decision-making
- Provide specialized critical care and inpatient care with accurate, complete, and timely documentation
- Educate patients and families on prevention, medications, and treatment instructions
- Maintain continuity of care and communication from outpatient visits through post-discharge follow-up
- Conduct daily inpatient rounds, document progress and care plans, and triage clinic calls and inquiries
- Participate in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives
- Perform specialized procedures in surgery, interventional radiology, or fluoroscopy under supervision
- Contribute to education of trainees and professional staff
- Perform other assigned specialty-specific duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- MSN from the practicing State Board of Nursing Approved Master's Program (Nurse Practitioner pathway)
- National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through an accredited association
- Practicing-state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
- Experience in specialty or procedure-based setting preferred
- Prescriptive Authority from the practicing state within 60 days of hire
- Drug Enforcement Agency Licensure within 60 days of hire
- CPR - American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (Physician Assistant pathway)
- Current PA Physician Assistant License
- PA-C or board eligible; ongoing successful recertification (NCCPA) as a PA-C within 90 days of hire
- Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Compliance with HIPAA, data security guidelines, Code of Business Conduct, applicable laws, policies, and training requirements
