About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide specialty and critical care healthcare services in physician offices and non-acute settings, focusing on chronic health conditions
- See hepatology patients in clinic Monday-Friday
- Perform hospital rounding as needed
- Provide weekend coverage as needed
- Record patient medical histories and physical assessments
- Develop therapeutic care plans and order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic studies
- Make medical diagnoses and institute appropriate therapy within scope and standards of practice
- Provide emergency treatment and stabilization in acute situations
- Document in the EMR and report pertinent information to the attending physician
- Educate patients and families about prevention, medications, and treatment
- Communicate with attending physicians and involve them in clinical decision-making
- Maintain continuing education and participate in patient safety, quality improvement, and patient engagement initiatives
- Perform specialty-specific procedures and meet expectations established through privileging and job agreements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies
- Current PA Physician Assistant License
- PA-C or board eligible
- Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- MSN from the practicing State Board of Nursing Approved Master's Program
- National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through AANP, ANCC, NCC, or PNCB
- Practicing-state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
- Prescriptive Authority from the practicing state within 60 days of hire
- Drug Enforcement Agency Licensure within 60 days of hire
- CPR - American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Preferred: Experience in Emergency or Critical Care setting
