About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess human responses and plan, implement, and evaluate outpatient nursing care for individuals and families
- Assume responsibility and accountability for actions as a licensed nurse and the quality of care delivered
- Provide transformational leadership in a professional practice setting
- Contribute to team success through role modeling and mentoring
- Assign and delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels
- Assign staff duties and lunches when performing the charge role
- Maintain a safe environment and consider patient condition, intervention complexity, and outcome predictability
- Provide verbal and written feedback regarding clinical practice and role performance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care and health services
- Promote patient safety initiatives and participate in department-specific quality initiatives
- Supervise, delegate, and evaluate assigned LPN scope of practice
- Develop individualized, culturally and age-appropriate patient care plans with patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Assess health status, identify changes in condition, notify physicians or supervisors, intervene, and document appropriately
- Accept assignments outside the primary unit and perform duties within individualized competency
- Participate in peer review, professional development, and evidence-based learning activities
- Evaluate patient and family satisfaction and advocate for patients and customers
- Assess and attempt to resolve patient and family concerns
- Complete assigned duties within the established work shift using effective time management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current State of PA RN licensure OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- Certification in area of specialty preferred
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- CPR certification
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to supervise and delegate to LPNs and support staff
- Compliance with HIPAA, data security guidelines, Code of Business Conduct, company policies, and applicable laws
- Commitment to meeting hospital time and attendance guidelines
