About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess human responses and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals and families in an outpatient endocrinology setting
- Provide professional nursing care and remain accountable for quality of care delivered
- Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels
- Assign duties and lunches when performing the charge role
- Maintain a safe environment and consider patient condition, intervention complexity, and outcome predictability
- Provide verbal and written feedback regarding clinical practice and role performance
- Share knowledge and skills with peers and colleagues
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate clinical care and health services
- Promote patient safety initiatives and participate in department-specific quality initiatives
- Supervise, delegate, and evaluate assigned LPN scope of practice as appropriate
- Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Assess patient and family needs, outcomes, conditions, and changes; notify physicians or supervisors and intervene appropriately
- Document care and patient condition changes
- Accept assignments outside the primary unit within individualized competency
- Participate in peer review, patient satisfaction initiatives, and professional development
- Advocate for patients and customers and address patient/family concerns
- Manage time effectively to complete assigned duties within the established shift
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current State of PA RN licensure OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- Certification in area of specialty preferred
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- CPR certification
- Compliance with HIPAA, privacy, information security, ethical, legal, and company policy requirements
