About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain robust data processes and solutions for moving and transforming data across multiple systems
Develop and maintain data models, databases, and data warehouses for business intelligence and analytics
Collaborate with IT, product, analytics, business teams, data professionals, analysts, and engineers to gather requirements and deliver data solutions
Monitor work against production schedules, provide progress updates, and report issues or technical difficulties to lead developers
Implement and manage data governance practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance
Collaborate on data security measures including access controls, encryption, and data masking
Mentor associate and intermediate data engineers
Perform data analysis and provide insights for decision-making
Stay current with data engineering trends and emerging technologies and recommend tools and best practices
Participate in the full data process from idea generation and analysis through design, build, and support
Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

What you’ll need

5 years of experience in design and analysis of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns for scalable, highly available systems
5 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or data management
5 years of experience with SQL and database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
5 years of experience with data warehousing concepts and warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Experience with Python and Spark framework preferred
2 years of experience with Databricks preferred
7 years of experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, or Azure Data Factory preferred
7 years of experience defining system architectures and evaluating technical feasibility trade-offs preferred
7 years of experience designing or developing data solutions in healthcare preferred
7 years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and their data services preferred
7 years of experience in data governance, data quality, and data security best practices preferred
7 years of experience translating requirements, design mockups, prototypes, or user stories into technical designs preferred
7 years of experience producing fault-tolerant, efficient, and maintainable data-related code preferred
Ability to collaborate across cross-functional environments
Experience and willingness to mentor junior data engineers
Compliance with HIPAA, company privacy policies, information security policies, code of business conduct, applicable laws, and training requirements
