About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as lead statistician for a team supporting scholarly research using administrative and public data sources
  • Clean, transform, and analyze data for multiple projects of varying complexity
  • Act as primary contact with Principal Investigator teams for biostatistics-related activities and communications
  • Prepare results and associated materials for manuscripts submitted to peer-reviewed journals
  • Translate complex study design, data, and analytic concepts for physicians, healthcare business leaders, and other stakeholders
  • Serve as an enterprise and team resource for complex statistical questions, study design, and protocol development
  • Help develop research and analytic resources, including methodology-paper collections, code templates, and scripts
  • Write and review statistical analysis plans and create mock-up tables, listings, and figures
  • Create or review programming specifications for analysis datasets, tables, listings, figures, and presentations
  • Conduct project-deliverable review and quality control
  • Present analyses to internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare manuscripts for publication
  • Mentor and advise junior research statisticians
  • Estimate timelines, monitor milestones, communicate risks, identify out-of-scope tasks, and escalate issues to management
  • Participate in project teams and interface with other departmental representatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required: Master's degree in analytics, health services research, epidemiology, or biostatistics with 3 years of Statistical Analysis; OR bachelor's degree in those fields with 6 years of Statistical Analysis; OR 3 years in Statistical Analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of SAS, R, or Stata
  • Ability to apply advanced statistical design, analysis, and programming techniques utilized in clinical research
  • Ability to effectively communicate statistical concepts
  • High degree of technical competence
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Preferred: Doctorate in analytics, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, or biostatistics
  • Preferred: Experience as lead and/or coauthor for published, peer-reviewed manuscripts
  • Preferred: Knowledge and experience in causal inference approaches, including propensity score matching, inverse probability weighting, and DiD
  • Preferred: Experience analyzing large datasets based on health insurance claims and/or medical records data using statistical software
  • Preferred: Statistical consultative experience or experience working as a statistician on multidisciplinary teams
  • No licenses or certifications required
  • No language other than English required
  • Must comply with HIPAA, data security guidelines, company policies, applicable laws, and the Code of Business Conduct
