About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build scalable software applications for customers
Take an enterprise-wide architectural view of solutions and execute product development
Design and create engineering specifications
Design and write code adhering to coding standards
Perform code reviews
Generate ideas, explore and implement technical solutions for product features
Monitor technical progress against project plans while safeguarding functionality, scalability, and performance
Participate in all Scrum ceremonies, assist with sprint planning, and complete development sprints through final execution
Communicate issues and blockers to the Scrum Master
Drive story creation, including Definition of Done, acceptance criteria, and estimation
Create and update tasks in software such as RTC or Jira
Monitor work against production schedules and provide progress updates
Report technical difficulties to lead developers
Mentor associate and intermediate software engineers as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be a US citizen due to contractual/access requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field
5 years proficiency in designing and analyzing algorithms, data structures, and design patterns for building and deploying scalable, highly available systems
5 years in at least one modern programming language and experience with at least two of: React, Angular v4+, NodeJS, NoSQL databases, HTML5, CSS, Google Cloud Platform, or Amazon Web Services
5 years understanding web services technologies such as REST, HTTPS, and JSON
5 years with one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, Python, C/C++, C#, Objective C, JavaScript, or Go
5 years defining system architectures and evaluating technical feasibility trade-offs
Experience with agile Scrum methodology
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the full software development life cycle
Experience designing and implementing large-scale consumer-facing applications
Experience and willingness to mentor junior engineers
Ability to travel 0%–25%
