About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide continuous observation and surveillance of multiple patients across the AHN network via a central command center
- Maintain visual observation using patient monitoring software
- Recognize potentially harmful patient behaviors and verbally redirect patients through digital audio devices
- Communicate patient needs to nursing staff
- Provide shift-to-shift handoff information to virtual monitoring attendants and nursing staff
- Report patient safety threats and collaborate on identifying and reporting safety issues
- Assure patient environment safety and identify potential hazards for hospital staff intervention
- Provide explanations to patients while maintaining dignity and privacy
- Follow safe work practices and participate in safety programs
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of previous patient care experience
- Capable of continuous monitoring of multiple patients at one time
- Proficient computer skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgement
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and patient confidentiality
- Ability to use de-escalation techniques
- Ability to communicate verbally, calmly and courteously in stressful situations
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Compliance with HIPAA, privacy, data security, company conduct, applicable laws, regulations, policies, and training requirements
